Sand Creek Station Golf Course just outside Newton, Kansas, is a links-style 18-hole public golf course with a bent grass playing surface designed by architect Jeff Brauer. Unique features include an active railway running through the course, Sand Creek bordering four holes, and eleven custom ponds. A wooden cart bridge spans Sand Creek, and a concrete underpass allows carts to travel under the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks. A biking/walking path runs along the tracks from the course to Southwest 14th Street. ==Overview== The par-72 course spans 7,200 yards which sits on the native grass. The course is one of the most highly acclaimed in Kansas; in 2007 (Golfweek Magazine ) ranked Sand Creek Station as the second-best public course in the state, behind only Colbert Hills in Manhattan, Kansas.〔(Golfweek's Best Courses You Can Play, Golfweek.com )〕 Sand Creek Station is one of the greenest courses in Kansas and is also known as a very well-maintained golf course. It is a very challenging course with a back tee yardage of more than 7200 yards. There seems to be a constant breeze there and they have designed the holes to face a variety of directions. Since there are five sets of tees, golfers of all abilities will enjoy playing at Sand Creek Station. One of Sand Creek Station’s signature holes, "The Beast," measures 648 yards from the Championship Tees and is the longest par five in the state of Kansas. The Beast is a long par 5 requiring negotiation of water on all 3 shots. If the golfer birdies this hole, they receive a t-shirt with the saying, "I conquered the Beast" on it. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Sand Creek Station Golf Course」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
